This is a Direct Placement position with a FULL BENEFIT PACKAGE.
Aerotek is currently looking for 20+ fabricators/metal fitters for a large aerospace company in Los Alamitos.
Metal Fitters will utilize assembly/weld jigs & fixtures to accurately assemble, fit, and weld prep the aircraft ducting assemblies and subassemblies. Prefer people with Aerospace/Aircraft manufacturing exp…but NOT a MUST.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Able to make parts from blueprints.
* Have a complete understanding of Aerospace or Aircraft type blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
* Be able to understand and properly use snips, gauges, overpress templates, power nibblers (A power tool for cutting sheet metal), belt sanders, high speed band saw and wire brusher, etc.
* Understand fitting techniques, taking into account print dimensions after welding.
* Must have complete knowledge of the effects of heats on parts (Distortion & Shrinkage) in TIG, spot and seam welding operations.
* Must have knowledge of aluminum and stainless steel with respect to aircraft standards on surface condition and finish.
* Must thoroughly understand class of metal fitting necessary to produce good spot and seam and TIG welding.
* Must be able to use normal precision measuring instruments (Calipers, Micrometers, Pin Gauge, Height Gauge)
* Must have a high school diploma
* Must have two (2) years of experience on aircraft or other sheet metal work of similar quality standards. (Automotive industry is OK too)
