This role is a deep subject matter and content expert for clinical and claims data and developing solutions The Solutions Sales Consultant works closely with the Client Executive in business development and the HEOR, Clinical Data, Product Value Strategy and Epidemiology business units to provide customer-facing, value focused solution demonstrations and presentations of the unique Optum Data sets and acts as a key member to support the overall sales process with insight and resources necessary to exploit marketplace opportunities.



Primary Responsibilities:



  • Act as client partner with Optum Client relationship management team to support new and ongoing work in assigned client accounts

  • Will have 8 to 10 principle accounts for data business development

  • Development of strategic account plan for penetrating with data assets

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate key account and portfolio level pipeline and revenue forecasts to Client Engagement Executive and sales management on a weekly basis

  • Will hunt and farm within these accounts and develop and maintain relationships from the operational through the 'C' level. Will work closely with sales management and the delivery team

  • Assure all opportunities are integrated and up to date in SF.com

  • Collaborates with Client Executive in Business Development and practice leaders and across business units developing, articulating and implementing the clinical and claims data and analytics platform/solution sales strategy and value demonstration to clients

  • Accountable for meeting or exceeding assigned sales objectives and quarterly TCV/revenue quotas including new and existing business

  • Implement and manage the execution and renewal of key customer licenses and pursuit of strategic MSA's for data and analytics

  • Partners with business development team and practices to develop and deliver customized sales presentations, proposals, RFI's and client demonstrations, including bid defenses.  Includes development of cross selling and integrated proposals across Optum pillars

  • Becomes key interface and data solutions architect for Optum with clients, Client Executives, sales operations and business unit teams on behalf of the sales organization to facilitate advancement of sales opportunities

  • Work closely with delivery leadership to provide developmental feedback on product needs and future enhancements and recommendations

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • A Bachelor's degree

  • A minimum of 7 years outside sales experience. Sales experience in selling complex information products and solutions, preferably in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or Medical Device industries

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience with Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) solutions

  • Demonstrated track record developing and delivering customer focused presentations, value demonstrations, and strategies that lead to increased sales

  • Self-motivated with demonstrated sales ability and a long proven record of key customer development and quota over achievement

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Frequent travel
