We are hiring for a warehouse shipper in Everett WA!
Shift: Monday-Friday- 10am-6pm
Pay: $13/hr
The Shipper is responsible for the shipping of products using LTL carriers and contracted carriers. This position is required to coordinate with sales, purchasing and manufacturing to ensure the timely shipping of goods.
Jos Duties:
* Move freight, stock or other materials to and from production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, by hand or using a fork lift, hand truck or pallet jack
* Sort cargo before loading and unloading
* Assemble product containers, crates, skids, pallets and boxes using hand tools and precut lumber
* Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers
* Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information
* Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs
* Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices or orders to verify accuracy
* Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages or discrepancies for reporting, accounting or recordkeeping purposes
* Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading or shipping orders, to route materials
* Correspond with representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages etc.
* Pack, seal, label or affix shipping labels (i.e. UPS, FEDEX, DHL) to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools or computer software
* Should be familiar with the following tools / technology: Forklift, computer, UPS Worldship, nail gun, claw hammer, pallet jacks, banding machine, shrink wrap, ms office and staple gun
Requirements
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers and vendors in verbal and written form.
- Forklift Certification preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
