Fast growing medical device manufacturer and direct marketer of products. With proprietary product technologies, is seeking a Mechanical Draftsman.
Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) will work with a cross functional team (surgeons, sales, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing) to design innovative instrumentation and surgical implants. The ME will assist with concept development, product design, and validation. Along with management and the engineering staff, the ME will be responsible for various aspects of product development including mechanical design, materials procurement, feasibility, prototype fabrication, testing, and wetlab testing. This is an opportunity for a creative, hardworking individual to see his/her ideas come to fruition in a market place that helps people lead a higher quality of life.
Responsibilities:
*Participate in the mechanical design of various surgical implants and instrumentation.
*Determine product specifications.
*Sheet metal design and layouts for implant / instrument cassettes
*Perform verification/maintenance and product management.
*Illustrate systems from specifications, source control drawings, sketches, models, prototypes or verbal instructions.
*Generate solid models and design drawings/specifications. (SolidWorks / Pro-E).Interface with vendors for critical component selection, tool qualification, and adherence to lead times.
*Work from customer drawings, company drawings, vendor drawings or specifications. Use corporate drawing standards as guidelines.
Experience Level:
3-7 years, or dependent upon scope and relevancy of work experience.
Requirements:
Proficiency in 3D CAD and understanding of mechanical principles a must.
Understanding of GD&T
Experience in product design, prototyping (stereolithography), design for machining a must.
Experience in the medical device industry is desirable, but not required.
Requires a motivated individual that is able to work in an extremely fast paced and dynamic
Environment.
Education:
Technical Degree, Technical Certification(s), and/or relevant work experience a must. B.S. Degree in
Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent a plus. This opportunity offers tremendous room for advancement and income potential.
