About this job

The job will work out of Michigan City and support all of the company's facilities. The person will work hand-in-hand with both the lean engineer and the robotics/machine design engineer to help drive costs down. This will revolve heavily around the decision to automate (or in appropriate cases, not automate) manufacturing processes. Will look at one piece flow implementation and key on things like scrap, tact time, time studies, looking at material flow, line layout, etc. Want this person to know what it takes to build and modify fixtures. They want to get to a 3 day lead time on product delivery and are at 6. Goal for 2015 will be to get to 5. Will focus on products that didn't meet 6 day lead time goal for last year and will start there. They are hoping that if they can ship a product within 3 days it will gain marketshare. Must have at least 3 years within discrete manufacturing (injection mold, CNC, assembly, die casting, stamping, and paint.) Also must have an industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering degree.
