The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for partnering with the Occupational Health Program Manager in coordinating, implementing and documenting the health and safety programs of the company, with specific emphasis on occupational health, infection control and clinical safety programs. This position contributes to company efforts to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements and to minimize risk for occupational injury and/or illness, thereby reducing company liability and associated costs

 

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Research and maintain an updated, accurate account of state occupational health laws

  • Assign new employees to appropriate business groups for pre-employment and annual health screening(s)

  • Create new/acquired business groups in health screening portal

  • Manage medical questionnaire program to include adding new business administrators, assigning/removing access, facilitating ordering and setting up employees in the system when necessary 

  • Run and distribute quarterly reports to businesses to help manage compliance with occupational health program(s)

  • Coordinate providers for occupational health screenings including tuberculosis, respirator clearance physicals and respirator fit-testing

  • Maintain confidential employee health records including screening results

  • Manage occupational health systems and providing data analytics and reporting

  • Field questions pertaining to occupational health programs including health screenings and respiratory protection

  • Manage employee post-exposure requirements (tracking, follow through, return-to-work, etc.)

  • Assess/audit business compliance with required occupational health programs and training

  • Maintain and update related company policies in policy center

  • Maintain various committee meeting minutes, agenda(s), and distribution lists, etc.

  • Design and maintain occupational health intranet site

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


  • Current unrestricted RN licensure in Minnesota

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of experience working in public health and/or occupational health setting

  • Occupational health experience such as pre-employment and annual health screenings, respiratory protection, blood borne pathogens, and infection control, etc.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Well organized to handle numerous tasks
