Overview:

The Trade Optimization Analyst is responsible for making recommendations on optimal trade levels for major trade and promotional programs for assigned brands or clients. The incumbent will possess an analytical approach to understand retail execution challenges and opportunities and possess the ability to translate data into actionable insights that help guide stakeholder decision-making to maximize ROI by optimizing use of trade funding.

Responsibilities:

  • Compares event results vs. forecasted results and interprets differences using multiple data sources;
  • Develops and maintains scorecards and trackers to measure KPIs;
  • Communicates results of events to the appropriate division and client functions including volume, share, penetration and profitability;
  • Researches competitive impacts and events as necessary;
  • Responsible for recommending future trade and promotional strategy changes to internal and external business partners to ensure future forecasted volume and profit goals are met;
  • Responsible for post promotional analysis of events as assigned;
  • Proactively recommends changes to future planned events as needed for course correction;
  • Assists with development of account plans and promotional forecasts and pricing recommendations during promotional planning periods;
  • Assists with account trade accrual analysis as needed;
  • SME for team on trade planning tool and client trade planning process;
  • Liaison between client and sales teams on trade and forecast developments;
  • Proactively communicates planning process changes to internal team; and
  • Other miscellaneous duties assigned.

Requirements

  • 5+ Years of consumer products sales experience
  • High degree of proficiency with systems (MS office / TMPS)
  • Excellent analytical skills and solid business finance acumen
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Takes initiative – is able to identify problems and recommend solutions
  • Bottom-line orientation to measure and improve business results
