A successful BRM will have the following:
- BA/BS in a business or a technical discipline (information systems, engineering, computer science, finance, accounting) and/or related experience
- MBA strongly preferred
- Experience in working with Executives in relation to IT projects
- Experience analyzing complex business problems and synthesizing large data sets to yield actionable recommendations
- Desire to learn and continue to develop professional talents and skills that will enhance the relationships with our partners
The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) is a member of a highly-motivated group responsible for partnering with multiple IT and business teams in order to evaluate and understand complex business problems. The BRM will be responsible for advising their partners on the technical implications and potential solutions relative to each responsible business units’ project portfolio. The candidate must bring a strong desire to grow relationships with each respective business partner. The ideal candidate has a strong background in representing value proposition specific to business goals and process improvement.
Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:
- Self motivated and the ability to work with autonomy; desire to seek the source of a problem and the capability to ask the questions necessary to identify the root cause
- Proven track record building strong relationships; excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; individual contributor responsible for managing business relationships
- Demonstrated experience managing a large project portfolio
- Ability to effectively interface with all levels of executives, up to and including C-suite, of a Fortune 200 company
- Identify opportunities for improving existing processes and implementation of changes
- Capability to partner with multiple business units to provide an IT perspective on the systems that support their activities from ideation through project implementation
