Physical Therapist

Work Schedule: Part Time Days, rotating weekends

Position Summary: Provides direct patient care. Assists director and supervisor in supervising physical therapy assistance and therapy tech. Assists director in developing and implementing departmental policies and programs. The Medical Center Alliance staff member can expect to care for adult patients, including the older adult through geriatric, and pediatric patients from newborn through adolescence. The attached criteria based performance evaluation provides a specific set of standards as they relate to age specific competency.

Specific Clinical Requirements:

Proficient in physical therapy treatment for acute care, outpatient populations, and wound care.

Possess the knowledge for treatment of neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.

Understand and able to adjust treatment plans according to the motor development stages.

Understand and adapt a treatment program for a patient going through the grieving process.

Able to assess potential signs of depression secondary to lifestyle limitations and coordinate physical therapy treatment to meet the patient's activity level.

Possess the ability to coordinate physician, therapist, patient, and family goals into an appropriate plan of care.

Be able to educate patient and family about disease process precautions limitations or sensations related to the patient's condition either verbally or written or both.

Position Qualifications:

Education:

Graduate of approved school of physical therapy.

Texas license required.

Must attend 3.0 CEU every 2 years.

CPR required

Experience:

Must have completed course fieldwork from a physical therapy school.
