About this job
The CT Technologist performs radiological procedures under the direction of a Radiologist and in accordance with the rules and regulations of the ARRT & may be cross-utilized into other modalities. Some clerical & transporting duties are included. Interacts with patients & patient families, physicians, and other hospital employees. Follows all regulatory compliance for DHEC, Joint Commission, ACR and any regulatory agency governing radiation safety. Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student. Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
ARRT and SCRQSA with CT Certification Required,
American Heart Association BLS certification
Education:
Graduate of school of Radiologic Technology and certified by the ARRT
Experience:
Performs in accordance with delineated job responsibilities and satisfactorily completes a yearly evaluation based on these responsibilities.
Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively meet the needs of the patient / internal and external customer.
Experience preferred in Diagnostic Imaging to include clinical hours from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
Special qualifications :
Must have the ability to effectively read, write and speak fluent English.
Effective communication skills; both orally and written.
Computer skills needed.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.
