Under the direction of the Director, Provider Data Operations, you will be responsible for driving an Optum enterprise-wide Initiative to advance our Provider data quality, transforming data into effective enterprise-wide models and systems that enable great Provider capabilities, products, interactions, and scalable commercial solutions.


 


You will be responsible for providing project leadership, expertise, and work coordination for a team of Provider data experts responsible for interacting with key stakeholders to identify needs, translating those needs into concepts and solutions. You'll work closely with other business partners driving Provider data and process quality across the company.


 


Resources to do the job require strong Leadership, managerial, and problem solving skills with excellent analytic ability, capacity planning, as well as technical knowledge of Provider Data Services functions and architectures.   Very strong oral and written communication skills along with a strong customer focus are also very important to your success. Other key attributes include being able to anticipate and solving issues proactively, able to understand IT solutions and the implications on the long term Optum needs, have high attention to detail, and be able to work effectively in a matrixed cross-functional environment.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Lead an enterprise wide provider data program to improve data quality and data processes for Optum

  • Manage staffing resources and match skill sets to meet goals

  • Gather, document, interpret, and accurately understand requirements critical for success

  • Work closely with related program leaders and business partners to drive common goal achievement

Requirements


Required Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis

  • Experience with gathering,interpreting, documenting, and accurately understanding requirements with large data sets as well as monitoring them through their lifecycle

  • Able to work independently in complex and ambiguous matrixed environment

  • Strong communication and presentation skills; able to effectively present complex information clearly across all audiences including senior level business leaders and stakeholders

  • Must possess a high sense of urgency with a track record of delivering results

Preferred Qualifications:  



  • Strong knowledge of health insurance industry (claims, billing, and enrollment)

  • Strong financial and business acumen

  • Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills

  • Experienced with provider data, processes and tools

  • UnitedHealth Group experience

  • BA/BS degree is required or equivalent related work experience
