Data Architect/ETL Developer - Full-time / Part-time

Immediate, Full-time/permanent need in Newington, NH for a DATA ARCHITECT / ETL DEVELOPER

JOB SUMMARY: Reports to Director of Business Intelligence - This role is responsible for producing and maintaining logical and physical data models of enterprise business data and the physical data architecture of the Oracle and SQL Server data warehouse.
This role will partner with the Business Intelligence Architect (and BI team as required) to provide a comprehensive data solution to optimize the Business Intelligence customer experience.
This role is responsible for generating all scripts required to transform the source data into the physical tables including the associated processes necessary to provide robust recovery and performance including audit and control processes and procedures.
This role requires the individual to be a self-starter, to work independently and to balance multiple projects while maintaining high levels of productivity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates in BI/DW and related database product evaluations, RFP's, POC's
Collaborates with the BI Architect on deliverables that include: Physical Data Models, Dimensional Data Models and other Data Management artifacts
Owns all components of the Data Warehouse (models, ETL tools, scripts, jobs,) including: development, test/QA and production versions , implementations and insuring backup / restore processes and procedures are adequate
Ensures that all of the data within the DW platform is architected and integrated as a cohesive unit
Ensures all environments are documented through data flow diagrams and configuration requirements
Understands the business objectives and develops architectures to meet and exceed their requirements
Works with team members to translate requirements into technical specifications; help identify and assess potential data sources
Insures data security is deployed and enforced per business requirements collaborating strategically with Framework Manager owner and Cognos administrator to deploy efficiently and effectively
Owns source data identification, data quality definition, transformation, and summarization processes
Establishes data management standards for tools and infrastructure
Assists in system monitoring responsibilities and makes recommendations for capacity planning
Effectively applies software development methodology and adheres to standards, including change management
Creates deliverables that include: PL/SQL scripts, ETL jobs, job schedules, audits and controls
Keeps all DW documentation, including processes and procedures, current
Owns data solutions, including requirements, design, build and test of deliverables, not satisfied by the BI reporting tool suite (e.g. high volume data extract not suited for BI suite delivery)

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS: 5-8 years of relevant data warehouse experience including at least 5 year experience in:
o Physical and dimensional data modeling, process modeling and data mart / warehouse design
o Oracle and SQL Server database concepts including performance optimization strategies
o Designing, developing and testing PL/SQL scripts for ETL development
o Experience in at least one COTS ETL tool
o Use of SQL and Oracle utilities to research and troubleshoot data issues
Strong business acumen, preferably with experience working in a consumer product goods retail environment and / or in a manufacturing environment
