As part of Humedica, you will predominantly be involved in analyzing data and data process, investigating issues or inconsistencies with data and figuring out why they exist.  You will use your intuition and creativity to take a micro and macro view of the data to figure out where to look and how to fix issues. You will be a primary contributor in working with cutting edge technology. This role will prepare you for significant career growth. You will work with terabytes of new data each month and participate in the daily operations of a data factory where we assemble that data that enables analytics on tens of millions of patient lives, and growing.


This is a unique development role where you will review data in aggregate and at row-level detail using a variety of modalities – SQL querying, visualizations, dashboards and summary reports. You will learn about the variety of clinical and financial data sources that come into the company and analyze that data for completeness and correctness. Sometimes you will use standard in-house reports to arrive at conclusions. Sometimes you will use your intuition to generate a hypothesis, and refute or confirm the hypothesis using the data. Together the data quality team provides confidence to all downstream users of the data and communicates findings that are viewed by your colleagues and our clients.


 


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Support fast-paced monthly database build in a production environment.

  • Use in-house data quality tools to review and analyze data volumes and/or perform ad-hoc analysis in addition to standard reports

  • Query database using selects, joins, subqueries, aggregations, and more advanced SQL to research data questions and research anomalies to their root causes.

  • Communicate data review findings to internal stakeholders, sometimes formally, sometimes informally

  • Interview peers and browse our Wiki to continually learn about the data

  • Contribute to the identification and specifications of new QA requirements as client data, and our data model, evolve

  • Implement process flow improvements to expedite production cycle

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • 2+ years of experience with SQL (self-taught or on the job) or 1+ year of SQL and multiple years with another data analysis language

  • 2+ years of data analysis experience

  • Desire and ability to learn new skills, systems and processes

  • Topical understanding of what a scripting language is and how it works

Preferred Qualifications:



  • 5 or more years of data analysis experience using SQL

  • Knowledge of UNIX/LINUX

  • Clinical data or health care industry experience

  • Experience working around the software development life cycle

  • Understanding of ETL / data warehouse processes
