Housekeeper / Janitor - Full-time / Part-time

*Postion pay: $8.50-$12/HR on 1st shift Must Be Available to work weekends*

Job Description:

Under the direction of the Environmental Service Supervisor (EVS), the EVS Housekeeper/Janitor is responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness within the hospital, performing a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, operating rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas. These include:

1. Following specific procedures to perform terminal cleaning of patient rooms, operating rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas, as well as preparing rooms for new patients.
2. Uses industrial cleaning agents and equipment, following appropriate safety procedures.
3. Operating mechanical floor cleaners, polishers and vacuums.
4. Moves furniture and other objects as needed in order to ensure adequate cleaning.
5. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
6. Demonstrates the ability to be an advocate for and strive to protect the health, safety and rights of the patient.

Work Environment:

1. Fast paced hospital environment.

Qualifications:

1. 1 year of housekeeping or janitorial experience in a healthcare, hospitality, office, manufacturing or residential setting.
2. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Performance Expectations:

1. Fast paced production, must have a strong work ethic, high attention to detail and follow orders.
2. Observes all safety standards and uses safety work techniques at all times.
