Ecommerce QA Architect

POSITION PURPOSE -
The Ecommerce QA Architect is at the epicenter of growth in our 70 Billion Dollar company. You will be responsible for designing, implementing QA Strategy for web and native mobile applications to support the dynamic growth of Home Depot ecommerce across various channels (web, mobile, tablet).

• You will collaborate with a diverse group of architects, quality analysts, designers, developers and product managers to deliver robust mobile ecommerce solutions that showcase our brand.
• You will lead internal QA development project teams and serve as QA strategy expert and be a key contributor to our rapidly growing ecommerce application portfolio.

Responsibilities for the role of Ecommerce QA Architect include:

• Strategize and define a Quality Assurance tooling roadmap for homedepot.com's testing framework including methodology, tools, metrics and application across devices and where appropriate enterprise.
• Analyze new and emerging trends in quality assurance architecture, evaluate alternatives, complete feasibility studies, ROIs and help define benchmarks per industry standards. Provide inputs to management team on quality assurance advancements, and makes strategic methodology and development recommendations.
• Provide advanced technical expertise and mentoring to the QA team and the broader organization. Champion quality assurance process improvements across .com and enterprise teams. Provide best practice guidelines, such as agile test practice and tools, to the QA team and help enforce their adoption and implementation
• Help analyze defects in various parts of the Online applications to help with root cause analysis; work with the business, development and QA teams to build deep knowledge that can be utilized over successive releases; help with triage and respond to QA support issues in a timely fashion.

This is a highly technical role. This person should possess a wide breadth of ecommerce technologies and be capable of leading technical development teams.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -

• Lead design, development, and deployment of QA technology/automation solutions to meet business requirements that are cost effective and sustainable. Deliver conceptual, logical, and physical solution specifications.
• Translate business requirements using complex methods and models to determine appropriate system solutions.
• Provide input into annual budget planning for technology migrations and project cost estimation.
• Research, identify, test, certify, and select technology products required for solution delivery.
• Establish and implement technology migration strategies for a specific application or architecture within an IT portfolio.
• Lead technology review meetings and ensure appropriate governance processes are followed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -

• 7-10 years of software development experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4+ years' experience with Java, Tomcat.
• 4+ years' experience with Web Services, JSON, XML, REST Technologies
• 4+ years' experience with QA automation and virtualization frameworks such as iTKO.

NATURE AND SCOPE -
Typically reports to Senior Architect, Senior Manager, or Director

No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the leadership of a work group: assign and review work, train and contribute to performance appraisal (but not hiring, firing or disciplinary action).

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must pass the Drug Test.
• Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses

EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
