Job Summary
Assist Supply Chain Manager in the management of all truckload, less-than-load, ocean container activity and parcel shipments for US and Canada operations. This position will manage all the day-to-day activities of our in-store field program for big-box retailers. This position will also work closely with the Supply Chain Manager on creation of work-orders, bill-of-materials, inventory management, inter-company funds transfers for material purchases, spend analysis and other activities related to shipping, logistics and warehouse management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and may vary by location.
Coordinate kitting projects with 3rd party warehouses for in-store field program; including managing bill-of-materials, ship lists and shipment scheduling.
Monitor and track small parcel & LTL shipments to ensure successful on time delivery dates are met for in-store field program.
Inventory management; including order entry into ERP & 3rd party vendor systems, monthly inventory reconciling, and assisting with annual inventory audits.
Ensure inventory levels are maintained by setting & monitoring restock levels and adjusting demand forecasts as program dictates.
Monitor aging inventory and coordinate obsolete inventory disposal efforts.
Procurement activities; including obtaining RFQ's, coordinating PO placement to vendors, and scheduling shipments and deliveries with vendors and warehouses.
Assist in scheduling truckload and less-than-load transportation between Bagster suppliers, warehouses and end-user locations.
Prepare customs paperwork for import & export shipments between US & Canada for marketing materials, sales literature, samples, etc.
Confirm data entry accuracy and close orders in Bagster systems - correct part numbers errors, fix pricing discrepancies, confirm warehouse picking locations, shipping terms, Canada taxes, etc.
Assist in tracking spend for inbound and outbound truckload, less-than-load, parcel freight for retail, marketing, and operations.
Assist with tracking shipment accuracy of parcel carriers and 3PL providers.
File and dispute freight claims with UPS and Fed Ex for both US and Canada.
Review UPS, UPS freight, Fed Ex and preferred truckload and less-than-load provider invoices for billing errors in pricing, add-on fees, weight & dimensional surcharges and other miscellaneous fees.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Required: High School diploma and two to three years of previous experience with shipping, receiving, inventory management and warehousing operations.
Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
Strong understanding of shipping & receiving, inventory and warehousing practices.
Good verbal, and written skills
Typing and computer skills - MS Office and inventory / sales-order systems
Strong analytical and organization skills
Ability to multi task and to react well under pressure.
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
Prioritizes and plans work activities
Work efficiently and effectively, both independently and as a team.
Adapts and able to deal with frequent changes in the work environment
Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness to meet productivity standards in a timely manner.
