Position Summary

This position interacts with client and vendors to facilitate maintenance and projects for building services to ensure the facility, its fixtures and its equipment are properly maintained for the safety and convenience of the employees, and to ensure adequate facilities, fixtures, equipment and printed material supplies are stocked and to maintain offsite records and fixed asset storage .

Principle Accountabilities

A. Inspects and maintains the facility and its fixtures.

1. Ensures the building facility and its fixtures are safe and operational.

2. Ensures and maintains the professional appearance of the facility including the kitchens, stockrooms and conference rooms.

3. Develops and implements maintenance and safety logs of the premises for review by the Manager, Facilities/Procurement.

4. Receives incoming departmental requests for services and assigns for completion on a priority basis.

5. Installs, removes or repairs new and existing building facility fixtures as requested.

6. Notifies Property Management of building maintenance issues and concerns that require their assistance, as specifically provided for in the lease agreement.

7. On maintenance tasks outside the scope of this position and those of the Property Management researches and prepares recommendations for outside vendors to Manager, Facilities/Procurement.

B. Inspects, maintains, orders and receives all non-IT equipment including Sutter Physician Services owned equipment residing in the Café Connect premises.

1. Develops and maintains periodic maintenance schedule for all non-IT equipment to ensure safe and operational condition.

2. Troubleshoots and performs necessary service to correct non-IT equipment problems prior to contacting appropriate vendor.

3. Schedules periodic and repair service calls with the appropriate vendor.

4. Maintains vendor files, contracts and maintenance agreement schedules for all non-IT equipment.

5. Makes a recommendation to renew non-IT equipment lease contracts and service maintenance agreements to the Supervisor, Facilities/Procurement.

6. Makes a recommendation to purchase non-IT equipment to the Supervisor, Facilities/Procurement.

7. After obtaining appropriate approvals from the Supervisor, Facilities/Procurement orders and verifies upon receipt all non-IT equipment.

The ideal candidate is one who is task-oriented, self-motivated, and has the ability to communicate effectively and professionally to all levels of the organization as well as external vendors. In addition, this position should possess strong organizational and time management skills to be able to prioritize responsibilities and accountabilities effectively and efficiently.

Minimum Position Requirements

A. Education

1. Requires high school diploma or equivalent

B. Experience/Knowledge:

1. At least 3 years experience in building maintenance required

2. Must have basic knowledge of small hand tool operation

3. Must be able to read and understand equipment operation manuals and schematics

4. Working knowledge of basic building fixture and small equipment repair required

5. Working knowledge of basic safety protocol practices, including electrical and mechanical

6. Proven knowledge of basic safe body mechanics practices

7. Working knowledge of basic building code and Cal OSHA regulations preferred

8. Working knowledge in the use and operation of standard office equipment.

C. Skills:

1. Proven basic repair and assembly skills

2. Personal computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.).

3. Excellent customer service skills.

4. Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.

5. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

6. Good spelling, writing and mathematical skills.

7. Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects.
