Job Summary :

The 3M Grouper Applications Team in Wallingford, CT is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer that is a highly motivated self-starter to join our team. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, primary responsibilities include supporting both client server and web-based products. A key focus will be developing test approaches, designing tests based on business and technical specifications, developing test data, executing tests (both manual and automated) and developing and maintaining programs to automate testing efforts to improve efficiencies and quality. This position will require collaboration with other teams/departments to design and execute tests, and to develop automation in support of client commitments. Working in an Agile environment, this position will include supporting team goals for each sprint by working on tasks in other functional areas to meet sprint commitments.

The qualified candidate will:

- Lead/Participate in business and technical design sessions to influence designs that minimize maintenance and testing time and to assess automation impact/needs.

- Organize/Lead the discussions to identify/design approaches to testing, data and automation needs.

- Develop test cases and test data to certify that the specifications are satisfied and execute the testing (manual and automated).

- Drive the identification, design and development of new automation to increase quality and team efficiencies.

- Participate in retrospective reviews to identify process improvement ideas and implement.

- Lead client product/feature demonstrations.

- Identify risks, conduct risk management in support of release goals.

- Address/resolve issues identified by clients.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited university

- Minimum 1 year of programming experience, can include academic experience

- Minimum 3 years of work experience in a Quality Assurance role

Preferred Qualifications:

- Java programming experience preferred.

- Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field.

- Healthcare experience supporting health care applications or claim processing software.

- Understanding of medical grouping, editing and coding within the Healthcare industry.

- Experience with Quick Test Pro, Selenium.

- Experience working with clients to research and resolve issues.

- Experience using Team Foundation Server (TFS).

- Proficiency with MS-Office tools.

- Experience with SQL and relational databases.

- Experience with one of more of the following operating systems: UNIX, AIX, Solaris.

- Web experience (SOAP, REST, HTML, JavaScript).

- Previous experience with quality assurance processes and tools.

- Previous experience with code management processes and tools.

- Experience working on an “Agile” team or knowledge of the methodology.

- Experience working with virtual teams.

- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines.

- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

- Ability to take individual initiative and responsibility for assignments.

- Keen negotiation skills.
