JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Performs any functions necessary, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers.
  • Processes residential mortgage loan applications. Collects reports and appraisals, inputs loan data, requests and ensures the receipt of required verifications and other various supporting documents.
  • Contact customers to schedule loan closing with borrower, closing agent, and realtor.
  • Review and enter application data in loan origination software.
  • Collect, track, and scan borrower documents.
  • Make calls to verify employment and insurance coverage.
  • Knowledge of Secondary Market Underwriting Guidelines.
  • Order and track title orders, appraisals, tax information, and pay-offs.
  • Contact customers to resolve issues / problems.
  • Review collected data pre-underwrites loans within the limits
  • Monitors pending loan files to ensure compliance with applicable Bank policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Keeps abreast of developments with the residential lending field related to loan underwriting.
  • Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of company guidelines and policies as well as all applicable laws and regulations related to mortgage lending in order to ensure compliance.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity in all internal and external interactions with colleagues, customers and vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a minimum of 2 years' prior Loan Processing experience
  • Must have automated Underwriting Software Experience: -Desktop Underwriter, Dekstop Originator, or Loan Prospector
  • Understanding of mortgage industry, application process, and loan documentation is a must
  • -Extreme attention to detail
  • Must posess professional etiquette in interacting with clientele
  • Knowledge of Underwriting guidelines preferred
