About this job

We currently have an opening for a Piping Engineer in Central Florida. The Engineer is responsible for developing piping system designs that meet code, contract and schedule requirements for Gas Turbine power projects.

Major Responsibilities and Activities:

  1. Perform pipe stress analysis per applicable ASME codes and standards. Experience with pipe stress software (e.g. Caesar II, AutoPIPE) is required.
  2. Ability to design and select supports and expansion joints for piping systems. Preparation of technical datasheets for expansion joints and spring hangers.
  3. Ability to prepare pipe stress reports for internal and external costumers.
  4. Knowledge of materials in the preparation of piping, valve, and support specifications and subsequent purchasing.
  5. Understand and interoperate ASME B31.1 and B31.3 Codes. Ensure that piping code requirements are correctly defined and incorporated into the design and vendor requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. Education / Experience Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
  2. Minimum ten to fifteen (15) years of directly related technical experience.
  3. Desirable But Not Required: Master's Degree in Engineering. P.E. license.
  4. Knowledge of Structural FEM package and 3D modeling software packages, Particularly Smart Plant.
  5. Practical experience with Caesar II. Stress analysis of power piping systems.
  6. Familiarity with ASME Section II, PCC, MSS-SP, and PFI Codes.
  7. Familiarity with welding processes.
