After speaking with the Director she said it is pretty straight forward and they need someone who is going to pick up the phone and make the call to try and collect money - the process isnt that difficult but she needs someone who is willing to learn and pick up on tasks very quickly because they do not have time to waste on collecting the money. There is a report that (the manager) needs to send to her VP by the 15th of every month that will include information that this Collections Analyst wil compile. Candidate MUST have commercial collection experience NOT personal or banking collection experience. The number of calls the person is going to make is going to vary based on the account they are working with - some days they will make 50-60 calls a day and other days they will only make 10 calls

-Collections of Various Ad Sales Accounts
-Review the aged accounts receivable on a regular basis
-Make phone calls to customers.
-Responsible for monthly reporting and meetings on Aging balances. Meetings will included Ad Sales Accounting Staff, the Director of Credit & Collections and the Credit & Collections Supervisor.
-As part of the collection process review the customer's financial condition
-Responsible for deduction resolution related to assigned accounts
-Contacting sales to ensure that customer adjustments are completed in a timely manner.
-Reporting outstanding discrepancies to both the manager of credit & collections and sales management. Working closely with finance to ensure that entries/adjustments are completed in a timely manner.
-Responsible for gathering audit requests related to the Joint Ventures.
-Deduction Management:
-Responsible for the follow up of all short payments
-Reporting issues to the sales teams related to Deductions for all business lines
-Meet on a monthly basis with the Director of Credit & Collections to discuss collection related issues.
-Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment: Candidate will be working in a team of 2 other people for the ad sales collection calls - working within the credit and collections department at the headquarters of Discovery
Hours are 8:30-5:30pm
Qualifications: 3 to4 years of commercial collection experience Performance Expectations: Training: on the first day they will not touch the system at all and will be shadowing one of the other collection analyst, day 2- still shadowing day 3-let loose and have someone shadow them and ask questions if they need help!

On the first day it is important that the person know how to make a collection call and they do not want someone who has personal or banking experience rather they need to have commercial experience
