About this job

The role of the Patient Service Representative (PSR) is to act as a partner with Sutter affiliated physician care centers to act as the initial point of contact for patients, providers/clinicians, and customers at large. The PSR is responsible for receiving and resolving incoming calls in a manner reflecting the Mission, Values, and Customer Service philosophy of Sutter Physician Services. These calls range from patient registration, appointment scheduling, referral management, and general questions.

The ideal candidate for this role is one who enjoys a fast-paced, team-oriented, and goal driven work environment. You must be a strong communicator, respectful and professional in your telephone demeanor, and be an attentive listener in order to resolve customer issues effectively and efficiently.

High School diploma or equivalent

At least 1 year of customer service experience

Preferred experience/skills:

Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's degree in Communication, Business, Healthcare Administration, or liberal arts OR equivalent work combination of coursework and experience in a service industry highly desired.

Technical Certificate in medical billing/coding, Medical Assisting, and/or medical terminology.

Multiple years of customer service experience in a medical specialty practice or other healthcare related occupation with transferable skills.
