What does a Geek Squad Double Agent do?
Do all things technology fire you up? Can you swap a motherboard or hook up a home theater system blindfolded? Does the thought of installing an LCD in an SUV, and getting paid for it, make you salivate? If you answered yes to any of these questions, congratulations, your dream career might be waiting for you at Geek Squad.

The Double Agent travels to the client’s home to deliver, integrate, network, and/or repair consumer electronic devices and major appliances as well as to provide technical advice and assistance to clients. Double Agent will facilitate a seamless Client experience by providing and fulfilling on lifestyle recommendations regarding product, repair of product, technical advice, service, and content solutions. Installation ranges from basic delivery, set up, and/or repair of Consumer Electronic products to advance/complex delivery, setup, network, and/or repair of home entertainment products and major appliances including on-wall/in-wall installation and Home Theater troubleshooting. Double Agents may ride with other agents for complex installations but ride alone on simpler jobs. All installation and computer repair service must meet the highest standards set forth by Geek Squad while assuring a professional and safe working environment. Additionally, Double Agents must have strong customer service skills to act as a company representative in the client’s home and to act as a consultant in the store.

90% of your time you will:
  • Travel via company owned vehicle to customer’s home, providing complete solutions.
  • Perform advanced installation of home theater/satellite/multi-room audio products.
  • Provide the complete solution of sales, upgrades, installs and service in homes and store. Document all work performed.
  • Uphold the Geek Squad standard and brand while completing repairs in home/store.
  • Receive and translate direction from a Deputy Field Marshal to fellow Agents.


10% of your time you will:
  • Maintain skills required to perform basic consumer electronic integration work.
  • Maintain skills required for specialization in computing.
  • Actively seek opportunities to increase and leverage skills through training and on-the-job opportunities.


What are the Professional Requirements of a Geek Squad Double Agent?
Basic Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year advanced home theater installation/repair or relevant experience
  • 6 months job related experience with in-home customer contact
  • Appropriate certifications and/or licenses according to state law
  • 21 years of age or more
  • Current valid driver's license and a clear driving record (Double Agents who work exclusively in the Manhattan, New York area is exempt from this requirement)
  • Lift or maneuver 75 lb. with or without reasonable accommodation and team lift up to 150 lb.


Preferred Requirements:
  • 6 months Best Buy retail experience 2 year Associates degree or higher
  • Low-voltage license
  • Trade License
  • 1 year professional trade experience
