The Abstractor
will code abstract clinical data from medical records. The Abstractor will follow and monitor
regulatory changes as they pertain to HEDIS reviews and NCQA guidelines. Perform ongoing analysis of charts for the
appropriate review compliance. Research and resolve assigned abstraction
projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Research
and resolution of abstraction projects as assigned. - Perform
ongoing analysis of medical record charts for the appropriate NCQA compliance. - Abstractor
is responsible for meeting daily production goal. - Abstractor
is responsible for meeting and maintaining quality accuracy rates. - Attend
conference calls as necessary to provide information relating to clinical
reviews and compliance - Excellent
organization and problem-solving skills required. - Strong
oral and written communication skills required. - Ability
to use independent judgment - Manage
and impart confidential information appropriately per HIPAA regulations and
company requirements. - Demonstrate
attention to detail - Able
to understand and follow directions - Advanced knowledge of medical record abstraction,
clinical reviews and regulatory requirements. - Advanced knowledge of HEDIS concepts and principles.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Professional Coding experience.
- Must have one of the following Coding Certifications: CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CCS, CCS-P, CCA, RHIA or RHIT.
- Previous experience working with Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of Coding Guidelines.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree.
- Sharepoint experience.
