About this job

You will have diverse responsibilities in micro-engineering assembly, process development, subassembly test & measurement and pilot production. The job description subassembly prototyping through to pilot production, working with the engineering team to identify and trouble-shoot problems, developing and modifying processes documentation as needed, setting up of process & test fixturing, visual inspection and sampling of incoming parts and materials, implementing and following test procedures, managing inventory and generating production test/yield reports.

This position is 40hrs/week.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Education Level: Associates Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Technology or similar preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing of electronic, mechanical or optical assemblies
  • Significant professional experience in a clean room environment would be an asset, as well as experience in transitioning from prototype to volume manufacturing
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and handle miniaturized components
  • Ability to perform coarse and fine alignments to components per work instructions
  • Experience in use of solder paste, UV and/or thermal epoxy bonding of components
  • Knowledge of statistical process control procedures and techniques is a plus
  • Working knowledge of vacuum pumps, chambers, ovens is a plus
  • Experience with using basic electro-mechanical lab equipment such as digital multi-meter, Volt/ohm meter, oscilloscopes, power supplies, stereo/measuring microscopes, micrometers and pin gauges.
  • Experience with machine tools (e.g. milling machine) is desirable
  • Hard working, high energy and able to work independently
  • Computer literate in use of microsoft office (word processing, spread sheets and data bases). Must be able to use electronic documents and fill in electronic records.

Shift: 7am-3:30pm
