The Product Development Manager will support the PD team as a key liaison between Design, Merchandising, and Supply Planning for the Dockers Product Development team. The Product Manager is to be accountable for all aspects of product execution and calendar timelines from the sketch/prototype stage through bulk production.

Responsibilities:

• Develops, Manages, coaches a team of 5 to 10 direct reports within a department

• Ability to drive processes with an extended team of merchandisers, designers, field contacts and others to meet development and production commitments

• Excellent understanding of Product Development and bulk production

• Support the seasonal and long-term sourcing and development strategy to meet profitability, flexibility, and agility

• Support the fabric/finish/garment price negotiation

• Strong understanding of component costing, balancing cost with meeting design aesthetic and target cost

• Successful calendar management and knowledge of product development and product cycle timelines

Qualifications:

Proven leadership ability with a demonstrated track record of successfully managing diverse teams

Bachelor's degree (8+ years of combined college education and work experience may be substituted for a degree)

Minimum 5 years' experience in apparel encompassing global product development, sourcing, production planning, inventory management and manufacturing

Expert knowledge of the apparel industry, competitor best practices and the global sourcing environment

Additional Qualifications

Ability to impart information clearly and forcefully

Demonstrated ability to impact, influence and negotiate both internally and externally

Ability to initiate and implement change

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions to drive results

Experience working with overseas manufactures and offices

Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and PLM

APICS certification a plus
