Summary Statement:

This position is responsible for developing and managing the commercial business and other critical aspects of the Chilled Supply Chain's Capital Projects.

It includes managing/coordinating activities associated with procurement, contract administration, supply chain management, cost tracking and budget performance reporting. The position requires a high degree of technical, interpersonal and management skills with independent judgment and thorough knowledge in all areas of procurement, contract administration and supply chain management. It also requires one to manage the commercial relationships with multiple levels of management in Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, Legal, R&D, Marketing and Distribution for execution of Chilled Manufacturing's Capex Plan.

Reports To: Sr. Manager GP, Capital, MRO & Services - Chilled Supply Chain

Supervises: Currently no direct reports but needs to interact with Plant MRO and Services Buyers.

Capital Expenditure Budgets: $50-75MM Chilled Manufacturing Capex on an annual cashflow basis spread over 100+ projects

Primary Responsibilities:

Plan and control the procurement process of capital equipment, materials and services. Ensure the equipment or services are delivered on time, on budget, meet all PepsiCo quality standards/specifications, and are purchased at a cost equal to or below competitive demand.

Evaluate and source business based on lowest total procurement/lifecycle cost. Challenge established specs/standards, which impact Capital on lifecycle costs.

Develop, negotiate and execute major and complex Business Unit and PepsiCo Agreements and Projects, by maximizing PepsiCo's leveraging potential to obtain the best value.

Stay informed and communicate to the Sr. Manager and Team the latest technology, industry developments, capabilities and trends to develop an effective procurement strategy.

Network with other companies to benchmark and identify best practices.

Develop and execute negotiating strategy and lead cross-functional negotiating team.

Develop effective communications with operating departments and other PepsiCo divisions on future requirements, commitments, costs, timing and performance of suppliers in regard to Capital projects.

Contract Management/Administration (cradle to grave): develop procurement plans, assemble/evaluate/screen bidders, assess suppliers, review/open bids, clarify/evaluate bids and recommend contract award. Hold pre and post award meetings, prepare formal contract documents, secure functional endorsements, debrief unsuccessful bidders, contract execution, contract implementation, commercial contract terms, contract kick-off meetings, establish purchase order, administer contract in regard to changes/amendments, price variations, conflict resolution etc.

Be the point contact for all invoice discrepancies ( contract related to scope, performance, delivery) between the project manager and contractor. This may involve face to face mediation between all parties, to come to a mutual satisfaction.

Support MWBE corporate goals.

Ensure the Capital procurement activities comply with corporate and department procedures and guidelines.

Maintain a solid working knowledge of contract laws and regulations affecting purchase and delivery of capital goods and services and communicate as required.

Conduct onsite meetings with strategic suppliers/contractors to investigate facilities capacity and capability to meet project success criteria, specifications and delivery dates.

Meet or exceed goals/targets established in PDR.

Develop and maintain business relationships with outside contacts that range from Sales Representatives to Chief Executive Officers.

Actively involved in pre CAR development to drive out extraneous costs to achieve the desired internal rate of return (IRR) for project approval.

Influence the direction of capital projects to secure the best value for PepsiCo.

Active participant/leader in cross-functional teams.

Manage the disposal of surplus equipment if required.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Director, Capital Procurement.

Education:

Bachelor of Science or Arts degree in Business Administration, or Engineering or Supply chain management. CPM preferred or equivalent experience.

Experience:

Minimum capital procurement experience eight (8) to ten (10) years with hands-on experience in issuing SAP Purchase Orders.

Familiarity with plant based MRO and Service contracts associated with capital equip
