Develops and executes technical strategy for computer applications and systems using business roadmap by analyzing competitive trends and patterns. Analyzing the technology landscape. Evaluating short and long term implications. Communicating strategies and change initiatives clearly

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the performance monitoring, profiling, automated testing, continuous integration, performance optimization and peak season readiness activities for the Levi ecommerce platform in conjunction with the managed services vendor

• Ensure extensibility, supportability, performance & scalability of the ecommerce platform

• Manage, coach, and develop the analytical and technical skills of team members

• Lead others to work effectively in a strong customer service/team oriented environment

• Ensure that the scrum teams have the right requirements, direction, and resources from product inception to delivery to support infrastructure needs

• Automate provisioning and integration tasks as required to deploy new code

• Build and maintain an automation framework

• Create continuous integration scripts for automated code releases

• Tie automation into a Site Reliability Framework to maintain high levels of uptime

• Develop and maintain a configuration management database

• Innovate new ways of doing things, and also operationalize efforts for other support organizations to monitor and troubleshoot

• Oversee and contribute to the documentation of the design and implementation of network, server and other systems (e.g. run books).

• Oversee capacity planning, deployment and performance management of key systems

• Manage hosted tools such as Jira, Confluence, Git Hub, Chef, Jenkins, New Relic, Pingdom…

• Collaborate with the architecture, application development, infrastructure & operations teams to contribute to development of the ecommerce eco-system roadmap

% of Time:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent

Experience:

• Overall 5 to 8 years of experience in IT with 3 to 5 years leading release engineering in continuous integration / delivery enviornment

Specialized Knowledge/Technical Skills:

• Significant technical experience in release automation engineering, Continuous Integration, build/deployment automation, automated testing & software development

• Proficiency in tools like Jenkins, cloud provisioning (especially with Rackspace), and automated configuration management with Chef

• Experience managing environment where applications are built on hybris with Java, endeca and apache a big plus

• Experience with monitoring, logging and metrics tools: particularly nagios, Sumo Logic, and New Relic

Decision Making and Problem solving:

• Ability to deep dive into issues and drive root cause analysis to successful conclusion making the product continually better

Communication:

• Exceptional technical / non-technical verbal and written communication skills
