OPERATIONS - REVENUE MANAGEMENT - BUSINESS LEADER

Oakwood is currently looking for a Market Manager for our Northern California location. This business leader is responsible for successful performance of these primary market functions: operations profitability, revenue management, customer service, sales growth, apartment inventory strategy, operations and, in some markets, property services. The Market Manager should have a strong background in hospitality with experience in managing multiple properties or business units. With a strong background in planning and budgeting, the Market Manager must also have excellent financial and personnel development skills.

Other responsibilities include:

  • The Market Manager is responsible for all business activities in the market(s)
  • Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing annual budgets, optimize sales growth, negotiate contracts and leases, scheduling and monitoring expenses, analyzing variances and initiating corrective action. Lead the development and implementation of all department budgets.
  • Develop revenue and apartment Inventory strategies that meet the market demand and fulfillment goals while optimizing risk or financial exposure.
  • Establish culture of service and client satisfaction throughout the organization, creating an environment of customer service excellence. Implement effective service delivery and recovery programs.
  • Implement an associate development strategy that successfully addresses succession planning, job rotation and cross training.
  • Attend hospitality and other business related networking events as the representative and face of Oakwood in the market place.
  • Participate on special project assignments within Oakwood Worldwide.
  • Participate with sales in the development of business reviews, proposals and sales presentations.
  • Supervises trains and develops a leadership team. Sets expectations and standards to team. Monitors and reviews job performance while enforcing policies, procedures and adherence to process. Ensures continuity of operations through the development of succession plans, job rotation and cross training. Leads by example through communication of a compelling vision, through thought leadership and innovation.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree required; business, marketing or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of ten years experience as a multi-unit Market Manager or Market Manager of a large operation in corporate housing, hospitality/lodging or closely-related industry required
  • A minimum of 12 – 15 total years of progressively more responsible experience in Hospitality management. Sales, revenue management and strong analytical skills required
  • Extensive experience in interpreting financial statements
  • Excellent project & time management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written, with the ability to comfortably communicate with Associates at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to bring creative solutions to existing programs and processes
  • Intermediate skill in Microsoft Office Applications; advanced knowledge of Excel preferred
  • Knowledge of Siebel a plus
