Position Summary

The principle purpose of the Sales Manager is to drive sales and margin in alignment with the financial plan of the retail store by pursuing sales opportunities, developing customer relationships and ultimately closing sales. The Sales Manager will build and develop a professional sales organization staffed with the best talent available in the market in order to maximize sales, margin, close rates, and average tickets. The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering results that drive overall sales in various areas, including In-Store ProServices, Installed Sales, Special Order, In Home Project Sales, Extended Protection Plans (EPP), and Credit.

Job Requirements

Requires late evening, night-time and early morning availability any day of the week. Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.

Minimum Qualifications

3 years of experience leading a high-performing sales team with direct reporting responsibility OR Bachelor s degree plus 1 year of experience leading a high-performing sales team with direct reporting responsibility.

1 year of experience in retail, business to business, and/or in-home sales.

1 year of experience recruiting and hiring members of a sales team.

1 year of experience training, coaching, and developing individuals.

1 year of experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

5 years of experience leading a high-performing sales team with direct reporting responsibility.

5 years of experience in retail, business to business, and/or in-home sales.

Experience working in the home improvement retail sector.

Experience in directly managing commissioned salespeople.

Broad knowledge of interior/exterior product categories (e.g., flooring, cabinets, millwork, building materials, appliances, home dcor, lighting, plumbing).
