Universal Community Behavioral Health (UCBH) is the continuum of the outpatient care system that The Meadows Psychiatric Center founded in July 1999. At this time, the facility recognized some of the challenges in rural areas surrounding the hospital and began a mission to extend behavioral health services by developing an array of programs based on community needs throughout surrounding counties.
UCBH includes programs such as:
Mobile Crisis
Outpatient Therapy and Medication Clinics
Partial Hospitalization for Children and Adolescents
Behavioral Health Rehabilitative Services (BHRS) Wraparound
Blended Case Management
Family Based Mental Health
Our MISSION is to provide safe, high quality, cost effective behavioral health services throughout our continuum of care. It is our VISION to provide individualized patient care aimed toward recovery and to promote a culture of service excellence.
The Physician Assistant is responsible for serving as a psychiatric practitioner in collaboration with the Psychiatrist in the Outpatient Clinic. The Physician Assistant will be assigned to one primary clinic location but may provide support to other clinics located within a defined geographic region.
The Physician Assistant is also responsible to make entries in patient's permanent medical records. The PA also responds to inquiries from hospital staff and patients regarding the treatment of conditions. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills. Consults and communicates with other providers integral to patient care during treatment. Works well with others in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation. Demonstrates compassion, empathy and adjusts communication to meet the need of the individual. Maintains therapeutic boundaries. Demonstrates quality customer service with all internal and external customers. Maintains a professional demeanor, positive attitude, and engages in constructive interactions. Treats others with respect. Works cooperatively as a member of the team.

Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program and successful completion of the National Certification examination through the National Commission of Physician Assistants. Licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Examiners. Previous behavioral health experience working with children and adults strongly preferred. This is a Per Diem position.
