Sodexo is seeing to hire two General Manager/Chef Manager s for our Government Services Division . This is an Executive Food Management position at a High Profile Political account in Washington, DC .
The GM /Chef Manager will be responsible for a food program with in high level political environment, the ideal candidate is required to be food focused, possess strong customer service skills with the knowledge to manage a union hourly employee work force. This position is a dual role and is required to have an active role in the food preparation each day as well as cash handling responsibilities. The account has 1 large food court, 1 medium cafe, 2 small cafe, 3 micro markets, a branded deli, and a branded coffee house.

Should have approx. 2-4 years of experience in an Executive chef, Chef Manager, Sous Chef, Serve Safe certified is a plus., FOH & BOH experience, Customer service oriented, professional and good communication skills Must be able to manager a Union work force Back of the house knowledge; prefer food contract management or restaurant experience, Must be organized, hands on, food production experience, knowledgeable with food and labor cost Must have experience with inventory, ordering, safety, staffing, schedule & payroll, HACCP Experience training & developing hourly/management staff, supervising and coaching Experience creating menus with fresh ideas; utilizing fresh products and unique trends Experience working in a large operation with a demanding customer. Culinary degree is preferred The position requires food safety certification, HACCP knowledge, ordering food and supplies, food preparation, supervision of kitchen staff, monitoring of food production, food cost, labor cost, budget, client interactions, creativity and innovations. Continuing training on Sodexo standards.
Position Summary
Senior-most person assigned to a one client account. Supervises cooks and oversees the preparation, portioning, garnishing, and storage of food. Estimates food consumption and purchases food. May assist in cooking and preparing food as necessary. Responsible for maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary condition. Responsible for cash management. Interacts with client/customers on a regular basis. Hires and trains unit personnel. This is a single incumbent position for a small account where there is no Chef. Reports to District Manager.
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
