- Work with both business and IT leadership, develop and continuously maintain a 3 year plan for the application function, considering impacts to staff, technology, and the business, and ensure integration to both the overall IT, Enterprise Architecture, and business strategies. Plan will leverage the framework built by the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure all IT plans may be integrated for a cross team view.
- Work with IT Resource Manager who manages the various work packages across the application team, reporting status on projects and tasks to teams outside of the application team. This Resource Manager will also aid in forecasting both current and future staffing plans for the functional area and ensuring that relevant IT staffing artifacts are completed.
- Ensure that an appropriate operational function is developed for the team. This function will integrate with any Insurance Solutions IT direction and UHG IT direction. Clear and proactive communications are required to keep both business and IT leaders aware of any operational issues within the application. Use of operational metrics is required and all change control processes must be adhered to.
- Work with the Infrastructure Lead who is a resource from the functional area that will own the monitoring and changes related to consumption of team resources. This resource will keep an accurate inventory of servers, storage, and capabilities consumed by team on behalf of the function. They will understand the chargeback model, and work with the Enterprise Architecture team to keep an accurate inventory and forecast of charges and usage. These resources are responsible for creating and maintaining a 3 year roadmap of the application, functional hardware and software upgrades and maintenance agreement, ensuring functional compliance with hardware and software lifecycle changes.
- Working with the Enterprise Architecture group, develop and maintain coding standards for your application.
- Ensure application team appropriately tests and documents through all phases of the SDLC.
- Develop and maintain a set of metrics to track the productivity, quality, and work coming out of application team. Once these metrics are established and baselined, work to improve efficiency and accuracy year over year
- Ensure 100% time tracking compliance across the application team
- Own change management approval and compliance
- Ensure consistency in direction across your team. Ensure goals are aligned across teams and entered into system by end of first quarter each year.
- Serve as the owner for escalation for any issues impacting your functional area
Requirements
- 10 or more years of broad IT experience
- 5 or more years of Data Warehouse experience
- 5 or more years application development experience
- 2 or more years of leadership experience related to Data Warehouse Applications
- 1 or more years of experience working in an Agile Scrum environment
- SQL experience
- Release management planning experience
- Change management and compliance experience
