RQS is a hybrid Provider and Payer business model designed to capture the broad risk-based opportunities in the industry. This team's focus is on building and architectural solutions, and developing deep relationships with a targeted group of large provider systems, while leveraging our deep payer relationships. This team will aggregate and create solutions across Optum and UnitedHealthcare Networks (UHN) to serve these targeted clients. RQS will enable high-performance and bring the tools, processes and practices to drive better outcomes for payers and providers who are increasingly deploying risk models in the market. Wayne Grodsky will lead the sales efforts for RQS.


 


VP Sales has RQS sales management responsibility for a specific region identified through the 'Rules of the Road' agreement. VP will liaison with the BU leader to be in synch with future directions as well as input to the existing sales teams. The VP will work with clients and prospects to identify the solution set that supports their business needs as they take on various levels of risk in their organization). The role will include messaging & education on the solution-specific value propositions, as well as connecting the various solutions for a holistic, appropriately priced, offering.


 


Primary Responsibilities:




  • Reporting to SVP of Risk and Quality Solution (RQS) sales

  • Ownership for RQS regional sales strategy

  • Integration with executive leadership for overall strategy input and awareness of solution specific go-to-market directions

  • Responsible for growth and involvement in strategic client relationships and sales/negotiation processes

  • Assurance of the implementation of operational standards in support of region and area sales and associated growth

  • Training, marketing, sales operations and executive leadership liaison

  • Accountable for the growth and positioning of RQS solutions (all Optum products)

  • Works with Pillar leaders and Regional leaders to assure appropriate pipelines are building along with internal marketing messaging and external marketing awareness

  • Key working relationships include: SVP Sales, OptumOne Sales and Client Management, Provider Sales and Client Management, Pillar leaders, Solution Teams, clients

  • Senior sales leader who can build trusted relationships with internal executive teams and with external teams and experience in managing executives

  • Deep understanding of the solution team and associated value proposition

  • Confident in maintaining process standards between internal groups

  • Ability to work with Solution team to review deals, processes, people and associated business plans in support the business units quarterly and annual goals

Requirements

Required Qualifications:




  • 15+ years of strategic business development or senior level consulting experience with 5+ years of experience in driving deep, productive relationships with C-Suite and senior-level client executives

  • Demonstrated success accessing and influencing senior level clients

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

  • Industry experience with payers, provider, employers and/or government

  • Proven experience and expertise in the healthcare market

  • Proven ability to analyze complex market opportunities and develop creative solutions to a wide variety of unique market problems

  • Advanced consultative selling skills with the ability to successfully construct solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively message, position and present information for client impact and influence

  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, collaboration, and listening skills

  • Proven ability to operate and effectively navigate in a highly complex, matrix environment

  • Ability to successfully negotiate complex internal operating environments with a high level of collaboration

  • Role models an enterprise point of view

  • Ability to navigate multiple large organizations simultaneously and foster collaboration and partnerships

  • Proven experience driving large complex deals to closure in the range of $20-100M

  • Proven Ability to anticipate future market landscapes and apply that immediately to an immature Fee For Value market

  • Ability to understand local, regional and statewide dynamics for Payers, Providers, Government and ultimately Insurance Exchange strategies

  • Strong established network of executive level sponsors within the healthcare
