Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

Responsible for plant production within the guidelines of the Operating Agreements. Participates in the employee selection process and is responsible for implementation of the plant training and qualification program. Develops and updates plant operating procedures and system descriptions. Administers plant operating budget and identifies areas of optimization and makes recommendations for improvements.

- Manages production at facility within safe, legal and contractually permissible limits. Meets or exceeds daily production budget.

- Using established employee selection guidelines, assists in hiring of plant personnel.

- Provides performance-related feedback and formal evaluations for plant technicians.

- Responsible for promoting spirit of teamwork and productivity among operating personnel in accordance with Siemens work system.

- Develops, refines and administers operator and maintenance qualification and training programs.

- Develops, refines, and administers plant operating procedures.

- Develops and administers line item operations budget. Provides assistance in development of capital budgets.

- Provides direct supervision and training of plant technicians in the operation, maintenance and administration of the facility.

- Provides safe working environment and promotes attitude of safety awareness through formal programs and routine plant practices. Enforces safe work practices.

- Establishes and maintains housekeeping standards.

- Operations and maintains all plant equipment to assure optimal production. Maintains all production and production support equipment on plant premises. To the extent possible protects and enhances value of facility. Plans, coordinates and executes all outages to assure minimum cost within constraints of schedule. Coordinates activities and interfaces with contractors and vendors as necessary to accomplish the objectives of the plant. Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and implements effective repair. Performs duties of other plant management personnel as required. On-call Duty Manager on a weekly rotating basis.

- Formulates interface policies and procedures with the customer to perform the contracted activities.

- Establish an effective working relationship with the customer, construction supervision, architect engineer and craft personnel.

- Supervise the testing program to achieve plant/system acceptance or other goals in accordance with published schedules.

- Maintain a close relationship with customer management personnel.

- Ensure all permits, laws, ordinances, rules, regulations and all orders of Federal, State, Country, Municipal or other governmental authorities which are applicable to the assigned projects are observed.

Job Skills:

Effective oral and written communications are required with other Siemens personnel, the plant staffs and outside firms, including the plant owners, A/Es contractors and dispatch center.

Must be persuasive and firm in recommending solutions to plant O and M problems and yet, maintain an amicable relationship with all parties.

Demonstrate leadership that inspires cooperation and a team effort in the performance of responsibilities.

Strong administrative ability to plan, direct and follow through on programs to support plant commissioning, start-up and long term O and M.

Frequently meet with senior plant management, partner organizations, and regulatory agencies to discuss plant status and recommend problem resolutions.

Computer skills desirable.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum eight (8) years of experience in start-up, operation, maintenance and supervision of electrical generation power plants. Must have a detailed working knowledge of power plant equipment, controls and system operations. Stationary engineer certification not required, but a plus.

Educational Requirements:

BS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university or equivalent related work experience.
