Duties and Responsibilities:

Under general direction of the Supervising Registered Nurse or designee, the Office Technician (T) provides clerical support to the unit. Type, edit and review correspondence with a high degree of accuracy using Microsoft Office, Summarize notes into minutes, Create and maintain file folders to include departmental, confidential and administrative files, Schedule appointments and maintain calendar(s), Compile information and type monthly reports, Order supplies and track items ordered and received, Prepare purchase orders and supply requests, Coordinate priority work with supervisor, Update records to reflect accurate information: Maintains, and performs periodic tracking of assignments using database files and a variety of hardcopy files, Provide organizational and technical assistance in administrative matters, Manage special projects as directed, Exercise good judgment, initiative and tact in dealing with public contacts, residents, supervisors and managers, Respond to or route a wide variety of telephone calls. Utilize facsimile and copy machines. Receive and distribute mail, Schedule training classes, Maintain records of training to ensure employees are current, will use Excel and Access, internet and intranet. Acts as timekeeper for Clinic staff, Performs timekeeping functions, processes and prepares Attendance Summary (664), Time and Attendance Report (672), Leave Activity & Balances Report (Lab) and Authorization for Extra Hours (662), Make travel arrangements, prepare itineraries and prepare and submit travel claims to Accounting. Participate in ongoing in-service and monthly RELIAS (web-based) training, and other duties as assigned.
