Catering Manager 3 opportunity within Corporate Services in Durham, NC. The Catering Manager will oversee all catering services for our client, a large pharmaceutical company that is part of a large national account. This is a high profile account, and our customers enjoy high end offerings. Events range from coffee service to upscale plated dinners. High end catering experience is required. This is a hands-on position, and the Catering Manager will assist his/her team with event set-up, execution, and breakdown. This position will meet with our clients to plan and cost events. Excellent customer service and client relations skills are a must!!! Other responsibilities include billing and assisting in our corporate cafe as needed.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience planning, selling, setting up, servicing, and breaking down events. Knowledge of menu development and costing is required. There will be a talented Executive chef to support the Catering Manager. This position has high exposure to key stakeholders within both GSK and Sodexo. The ability to be a change agent in a changing business culture is a must.
Position Summary
Manages all catered events. Hires, schedules, and trains catering staff. Works with clients/customers to arrange and follow through on all catering details and to ensure all special requests are met. Directs setup for events. Responsible for pricing, billing and resolving customer complaints. Develops menu/costing.
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
