Located in Houghton (Alleghany County) Houghton College is 65 miles southeast of Buffalo and 70 miles southwest of Rochester in Houghton, New York . On all sides of our 1,300-acre campus is the scenic beauty of the rolling hills and northern hardwood forests of Western New York, this private, Christian, liberal arts college began in 1883 as a seminary (high school). Coeducational from its founding; Houghton's permanent charter was granted in 1927, and accreditation by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges came in 1935. Sodexo's Campus Dining Division has an opening for a General Manager 4, food at Houghton College . Reporting to the District Manager, the General Manager will function as the leader of this $2.8M dining services account. Primary responsibilities include: Oversight and adherence of the dining contract, management of at least two salaried managers (catering and chef), hourly employees and student staff, training and development, implementation of all Sodexo programs within Resident Dining, Retail Food and Catering. This account has approximately 600 student boarders in the residential dining program, retail that consists of a snack bar and Starbucks-We Proudly Brew and a catering operations with $350k in annual sales.

The ideal candidate will have the following :

- College/University or similar contract management GM-level/operations experience

- Experience managing other salaried managers

- Experience with client relations

- P&L management experience

- The ability to drive sales and control costs

Position Summary

Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree

Basic Management Experience - 3 years

Basic Functional Experience - 4 years
