DER Technical Lead needed for a long-term contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Charlotte, NC.


Must be currently eligible to work in the US for any employer.


Please note that this position does not allow for working remotely, as such the incumbent must be able to work onsite in client's Charlotte, NC location.

What You'll Be Doing:



    - The role will be a technical lead working on multiple projects within a program to implement solutions to enable the expansion of Distributed Energy utilization and offerings, and to integrate these new DER solutions with current systems and infrastructure.
    - The role will provide technical expertise and leadership in all projects and stages of the DER Program including analysis, design, build, testing, deployment and application performance.
    - The position can also be requested to perform application development for projects in the program.
    - Become an IT SME on the various DER applications within scope of the program.
    - Become knowledgeable of impacted or related Duke systems and integration points (i.e. Customer Systems or Customer Data Hub), and work closely with those application delivery teams to determine most efficient ways to meet defined requirements.
    - Provide technical evaluation as part of vendor RFP processes to ensure selected solutions meet IT standards and requirements.
    - Serve as primary contact between project team and IT, Security, and Solution Architects to determine and ensure sound overall technical solution design.
    - Lead the project application development team in all phases of the project. This includes applications (configuration, customization, and workflow), interfaces, reporting, and data conversion, and workflow.
    - Provide high level technical direction and QA oversight for vendor development efforts
    - Provide IT application development services.
    - Assist in ensuring that all applicable testing (performance, security, unit, etc) is planned and completed within each project. Lead/Assist the development team in defect triage and resolution during all stages of testing.
    - Work directly with IT PMs to report status, issues, risks, etc on project deliverables assigned to the application development team.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:



    - Ability to resolve complex issues that require significant freedom of action and sound judgment with little management oversight
    - Ability to present information on technically complex subjects in an understandable manner in both oral and written form to business clients and senior management
    - Experience working with Duke Customer Systems, Data Hub/IMA framework, or existing Renewable Energy tools
    - Experience with other tools such as Informatica, MQ , Web Methods, Dimensions
    - Ability to easily and quickly learn business process in relation to application functionality.
    - Ability to develop and implement IT work processes to ensure effective operation of portfolio
    - Demonstrated understanding of data integration architectures including ODS and Data Warehouse concepts
    - Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate multiple assignments concurrently and properly prioritize required tasks to meet time schedules
    - Ability to work with external vendors of software packages and coordinate deliverables between internal and external teams
    - Knowledge of ITDM and the ability to apply solution delivery best practices as defined
    - Ability to understand technology standards and directions and apply them to an overall IT roadmap for the assigned portfolio
