You will be transporting patients to and from all phases of scheduled Medical appointments, such as to Rehab, the Doctor's office for Dialysis, and/or the Hospital, etc. You are not responsible for scheduling appointments; however, the day before the appointment, you will be contacting patients to confirm the next day's appointments. You will be given a route when you come in and will average around 180 miles a day. Although you are dropping the patients at their scheduled time, you might not necessarily be the person picking them up, as it could be someone else who will be picking up the patients, and vice versa (you might be picking up a patient from an appointment who you might have not dropped off initially). You will have some physical work, but it's limited to helping patients who are in wheelchairs, in and out, as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Transport Ambulatory and Non-Ambulatory Members to and from their scheduled Medical appointments in a safe and timely manner.

  • Safe operation of a company-owned specialty vehicle along a fixed or flexible route.

  • Work on simple tasks using established procedures.

  • Depend on others for guidance.

  • Work is typically reviewed by others.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • Comfortable traveling locally 100% of the time.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and willingness to work an 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday between 6:00 am - 5:00 pm, with possible overtime, as needed.

  • Current and valid Florida Driver's License.

  • Physical ability to lift and move wheelchair- and/or stretcher-bound passengers safely.

  • Considerable knowledge of traffic laws, ordinances, rules, and driving courtesies, as well as good knowledge of Miami - Dade County streets and roads.

  • Temperament to deal professionally with disabled and sick persons.

  • Temperament to deal professionally with other Healthcare personnel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual fluency with English and Spanish.
