Honeywell is hiring Failure Analysis Engineer Intern for our Clearwater, FL facility. This position is an internship role performing analysis of electronic components in the Failure Analysis Lab.

Job duties:

The role involves the physical and electrical analysis of components to evaluate construction and the identification of defects.

The candidate should have an interest in the physics associated with electronic component construction, have a desire to perform tasks that evaluate the construction of those devices and perform destructive physical analysis (DPA) on electronic components following defined processes.

Physical requirements of the role include the handling and manipulating of very small tools and components as well as the use of larger machine shop equipment.

The role commonly requires working under microscopes to test and evaluate components.

Manipulation of objects to perform grinding and polishing is also required.

Basic Qualifications:

Must be currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Due to export control restrictions, must be a U.S. Citizen.

Must be able to complete an internship prior to graduating.

Additional Qualifications:

The use of Microsoft Office software tools for the generation of reports and analysis of data.

Ability to interpret specifications and schematics.

Familiarity with lab equipment such as a Scanning Electron Microscope, optical microscopes, Real Time X-ray radiography, and Imaging (photography) systems.

Familiarity with basic chemistry, chemical handling and safety.

Performing basic electrical tests on components using DVMs, LCZ bridge, Megohmeter, Curve Tracer, and HyPots.

The ability to perform routine maintenance on, support and utilize specialized lab equipment and systems.
