Assembler 4

Aerotek is currently seeking a highly qualified Assembler 4 to provide assistance to a production team based in Valencia, CA. This position is a temporary to permanent opportunity. Pay rate depends on level of experience.

Requirements:

• Prior certification to J-STD-001
• Familiarity with IPC-7711 and/or IPC-7721
• Operation and programming experience with manual and automatic wire bonders - Hughes 2460, K&S 8090 & 8098, H&K BJ820
• Computer literate

The following is a list of possible duties:
* Read work orders, follow production drawings and sample assemblies, or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
* Position and align parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture or other holding device.
* Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, weld, solder, cement, press fit or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
* Mount assembled components to boards or units.
* May install multi-level subassemblies and modules into racks using complex configurations.
* Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
* Assemble and attach hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs and switches, to assemblies.
* Perform intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating and color-coding parts and assemblies.
* Tend machines that press, shape or wind component parts.
* Perform online go-not-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
* Set up station with the correct documents and components per assembly drawing.
* Handle/install polarized/non-polarized components on designated location on product.
* Adjust or trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical requirements or dimensional characteristics.
* Assist in performing repair work.
* Communicate any process problems with peers, leads, supervisors and/or engineers.
* Perform preventative maintenance on production line machinery.
