Job Summary:

Performs accounting functions in support of IT Infrastructure Delivery organization, including Accounts Payable, financial tracking, processing and reporting. Provides structured accounting support and assists with projects and business processes. May be asked to develop alternatives and solutions where guidelines are not available. Works under limited supervision.

Qualifications:

Minimum

High School diploma or equivalent 2 years administrative or clerical support experience

Preferred

Associate/Bachelor's degree, certification, or continuing education General Microsoft Office skills Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including ability to create and use advanced functions such as Vlookup, Pivot Tables, Graphs/Charts) Working knowledge of Marriott's various Financial tools (PeopleSoft AP, Mosaic Reports, GL Reports, MICS Reports, OnDemand, Reports) Experience in a technology organization (understands technology-related terms) Solid communication (verbal and written) and organization skills Effective in prioritizing work and following through on commitments Strong problem-solving skills; Ability to leverage resources in the accomplishment of objectives High degree of initiative and ability to work effectively in teams or independently

Responsibilities:

Processes data through an automated accounting system to record items such as operating expenses/accounts payable, travel expenses and other miscellaneous journal entries. Verifies the accuracy of the entries by analyzing edit reports. Ensures timely and accurate invoicing using PeopleSoft. Tracks invoices and investigates discrepancies. Provides support to the team as necessary in the completion of annual budgets and monthly forecasts. Collects financial data from multiple sources to prepare accounting entries, research problems encountered with the data or respond to inquiries regarding the entries. Verifies mathematical accuracy of accounting documents and reports. Determines and makes appropriate corrections. Creates routine correspondence. Creates, tracks and reconciles purchase orders. Supports internal billing of IT Infrastructure services. Assists in Fixed Asset Inventory tracking. Supports quarterly Lease Audits. May audit expense reports for conformity with internal policy. Reviews transactions rejected by the accounting system. Researches the reason for the rejection (e.g., coding, mathematical errors) and prepares the correcting entries. Performs data entry into a tracking or reporting system utilizing spreadsheet, database or mainframe applications as requested. Maintains filing systems within department; retrieves documents and responds to requests for information from the documents as necessary. Distributes mail and provides back-up support to Administrative Support team.
