Clinical Nurse Specialist (RN) -- Nursing Administration

Kingwood Medical Center is currently looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist (RN) -- Nursing Administration.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring all Med Surg pts receive quality care and comprehensive services.

Coordinates patient care throughout the continuum in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.

Performs direct patient care, physical assessment and consults with staff and physicians regarding findings/changes in patient condition.

Assists nursing/medicine with diagnostic tests/procedures as needed.

Serves as a clinical resource person with an expertise in medsurg care management.

Provides education/in-services for issues and topics.

Provides expert nursing care which includes: direct clinical practice, consultation, education and research.

Promotes and develops new programs and is accountable for the provision of medsurg care within the institution.

RN with current state licensure

Master's Degree in Nursing

Graduate from an accredited Master of Nursing Clinical Nurse Specialist program

Minimum 5 years nursing experience in Med Surg

Certified in chemotherapy administration preferred.

Evidence of Texas Board of Nurse Examiners (TXBNE) recognition as an APN.

Certification for Clinical Nurse Specialist if granted after 12-31-95

Nursing expertise in the intensive and general care.

Proficient in patient assessment direct delivery of clinical care, and evaluation of patient care.

Ability to maintain quality control standards.

Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.

Able to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in emergency situations.

Strong problem solving skills in addition to management skills, including the ability to deal with crisis situations.

Able to work with all levels of the multidisciplinary team to improve process and enhance patient outcomes.
