Timpanogos Regional is looking for a part time Unit Secretary to join our ER team!
This position provides secretarial support in the emergency department setting. Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff. Uses basic computer skills/knowledge and medical terminology to promote unit function. Prepares and compiles records in the specified Department. Acts under the direction of physician and nursing staff. Participates in performance improvement activities. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards. Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the unit and organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits; and treats staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect. Provide registration support as needed during busy times and pre-registration of EMS patients.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Advanced computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
Knowledgeable of medical terminology.
Demonstrates telephone etiquette skills.
Knowledgeable and sensitive to patients' rights.
Current BLS Certification (available after hire)
