American Airlines Federal Credit Union has an opening for a Account Rep (Financial Advisor) for the Flagship Financial Group based out of the branch located in JFK International Airport. Financial Advisors are charged with assisting members of the credit union in reaching their financial goals. This is done by the evaluation of their current financial condition in relation to their future objectives. A plan is then put together to help them achieve these goals, generally utilizing non-deposit vehicles. In addition, the advisor is active in member education in the investment area, the presentation of seminars and on-going individual consultations.

Essential Responsibilities:

Work as a team member within the credit union and Flagship Financial Group.

Respond to all referrals from others in the credit union to determine if non-deposit investment products can help them reach their goals.

Analyze and evaluate the member's financial situation to make recommendations that are aimed at reaching these goals, keeping experience, risk tolerance, age and tax bracket in mind at all times.

Meet with all client members at least annually to determine if goals/situations have changed and recommend adjustments to their holdings accordingly.

I nform referrers of the actions taken with the members they have referred.

Contact prospects (and clients) in a timely manner so that they will know that their business is important to the credit union.

Complete all paperwork in an accurate and timely fashion.

S ubmit all required reports/blotters in a timely manner.

Organize time so that the member feels that the Advisor is concentrating on them and their needs.

Offer seminars to educate our members.

Educate members on asset allocation for their 401(k).

Provide formalized financial plans for appropriate situations.

Refer members back to the credit union for appropriate products.

T o work independently while being based in the JFK airport area. Must be able to self commute to local credit union offices (JFK; EWR; HAJ; LGA) as needed for appointments with members. Occasional air travel and overnight stays maybe required to other possible assigned credit union offices in the northeastern states.

The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account information and Credit Union documents, ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be an excellent communicator.

Good knowledge of the financial markets and alternative products.

Success in a like position prior to coming to the credit union is necessary.

CFP or other advanced designation would be helpful.

Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.

Successful candidate must have satisfactory attendance and performance, which will be verified.

Candidates will be required to pass applicable American Airlines pre-hire compliance checks.

Must have an acceptable credit history, which will be verified (e.g., no past due accounts, charge-offs, collection items or bankruptcies).

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

In addition to the education/experience requirements, the following is necessary:

FINRA S7 and S66 (or S63 & S65), appropriate state insurance license with a clean U-4 report.

Candidates will also have to pass pre-hire checks, be approved and accepted for full registration with the FINRA Broker Dealer contracted with American Airlines Federal Credit Union, (ex. Cetera Investment Services, LLC.)
