Optum Consulting is looking to expand its offerings within the Network and Population Health pillar (NPH). The group is planning to hire multiple resources to support the expected growth of consulting-related opportunities within the payer and provider markets.  This position will support a broad range of clinical and provider network consulting engagements across the dimensions of Risk and Quality, Population Health, Network Management and Payment Innovation, and Accountable Care.  Between projects, it's expected this resource will support internal development of offerings and external business development efforts.


 


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Business Development (0% - 10% Time Allocation):

    • Support leads, pursuits, and proposals
    • Support the development of new NPH consulting solutions that will be brought to market, leveraging research and internal resources
    • Effectively build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients
    • Support the identification of opportunities for sales and business development collaboration with other Optum business segments

  • Program Delivery and Oversight (90 – 100% Time Allocation):

    • Execution of NPH projects
    • Participate in NPH-related work streams on larger and broader projects
    • Support resources within projects, as necessary
    • Support program communication plan and execution, as necessary
    • Support project management and business analysis tasks, as necessary
    • Ensure quality assurance methods are implemented within the project
    • Provide status updates and review of programs to senior leadership

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of experience in any one or combined following areas:  population health management, provider network management, bundled payment, or quality (STARS, HEDIS, Quality Measures)
  • 3+ years of project management or business analysis
  • 5+ years of healthcare background experience 
  • Ability to travel up to 80% ** see note
  • Location flexible

** Travel is required for the role, but location is flexible. Travel is typically out on Monday and back late Thursday with work from home when not at the client.


 


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of consulting experience
