Mortgage Underwriter Job Description:

-��Analyze income, assets, credit, real estate property appraisals, homeowner���s insurance, mortgage and flood insurance, title commitments and loan conditions for approval to include loan credit decisions
-��Review applications to insure they are within specified Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac/VA criteria
-��Familiar / skilled with Fannie Mae���s Desktop Underwriter
-��Knowledge of VA loans
-��All supplier work shall be completed in accordance with prescribed USAA plans, processes, procedures and guidelines as identified in this

Mortgage Underwriter Technical Skills:

- Knowledge of government guidelines
- Knowledge of underwriting, processing, and federal lending regulations
- Manage a heavy pipeline of loans 50+
- Familiar with FHA and HUD guidelinesStrong written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service skills
- Highly organized
- Ability to prioritize multiple competing task
- Work under high pressure and deadlines

Mortgage Underwriter Required Experience:

- Minimum of 12 months mortgage underwriting background
- Good analytical skills and knowledge of loan origination systems
- Proficient with First Mortgage Conventional, VA, Texas Vet, Purchase Money Second and Convenience Line of Credit loans
- Averaging pipeline of 50 loans
- FHA/VA Government programs
- Experience gathering supporting loan documents
