Primary Accountability: The primary responsibility of the Night Audit is to check-in and check-out hotel guests, process all payments according to established hotel procedures and provide information to guest or visitor inquiry, ensuring that all procedures are completed to the hotel’s standards and assist where necessary to ensure optimum service to guests. 

Major Duties:

  • Verify all cash banks and cash drops, adhering to hotel procedures
  • Verify and resolve inactive accounts
  • Process micros, deposit ledger, end of day, daily activity reports and other reports as requested by managers
  • Perform room rate audits and bucket checks
  • Stock and close Gift Shop, including the running of reports and posting of daily charges to house account
  • Verify and transmit daily credit card batch
  • Close out cashiers and compile night audit packet, ensuring all paperwork is in proper order and accounted for
  • Understand proper maintenance and use of equipment
  • Maintain and enforce knowledge of hotel’s standards, policies, and procedures
  • Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests
  • Treat work area, tools used to complete the duties of the position and the entire facility with respect
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing 
  • Compute basic mathematical calculations
  • Think clearly, analyze and resolve problems exercising good judgment
  • Display strong attention to detail

Physical Demands:

  • Requires constant standing or walking
  • Frequent crouching/stooping; reaching for, handling or grasping objects or supplies or lifting/carrying supplies weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Sitting will be required occasionally
  • Safety requirements: Adhere to company, property and department safety standards and procedures. Safety shoes, proper guards, proper lifting techniques, all safety procedures must be followed
