Jr. QA Engineer: Banking or Financial; Bay Area Candidates

Experience & Qualifications:
1. At least 5+ years experience in Software Quality Assurance or Software Development.
2. At least 3+ years experience with Quality Assurance and Software Testing Tools.
3. MUST have at least 2+ years experience working in an Agile Scrum environment / methodology.
4. Nice to have experience with Cucumber, Ruby, Watir , Selenium and should have experience creating or running automation scripts with these tools
or have participated in creation of a Ruby/Selenium Automation framework
5. Should be strong performer and hands-on to be able to articulate the thought-process.
6. Knowledge of software development life cycle and processes for quality assurance guidelines.
7. Familiar of quality philosophies, principles, methods, tools and standards of software development and testing
(software estimation techniques, risk assessment and management, configuration management and change control).
8. Knowledge of object oriented programming, C sharp and Java.
9. Knowledge of the disciplines of Software Engineering with emphasis on testing.
10 Experience testing Client/Server and Web based software.
11. Knowledge of Internet and enterprise software technologies including web and application servers.
12. Efficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Project, Visio).
13. Experience with relational databases.
14. Experience with Jira, Rally etc.

Technical skills and abilities:
1. MUST have strong technical background with ability to read and understand code logic; creating Acceptance Tests.
2. Ability to work with a diverse group of project participants both technical and communicate at a level appropriate to the audience.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
4. Ability to deliver results under pressure.
5. Ability to lead or mentor other individuals.

Responsibilities:
1. Participate, Functional / Integration, Regression, and UAT Testing initiatives.
2. Candidate must be comfortable speaking with developers, other testers and management
3. Build and manage the overall test process, according to the Agile Scrum methodology.
4. Prepare, specify, and execute test cases and scenarios.
5. Control and manage daily test activities through daily Agile Scrum stand-up meetings..
6. Provide internal Quality Assurance.
7. Identify and report project risks.
8. Report on progress of the test process to the management.
9. Ability to manage change during the test process.
10. Evaluate overall test processes.
11. Verification testing in SIT (System Integration Testing) / UAT (User Acceptance Testing) to ensure the changes were properly installed.
12. Triage defects, assist in prioritizing fixes with an ability to differentiate between actual and required user needs
